The expression of Brazilian identities is rich and multiple, as Brazil is an immense territory made up of populations of diverse origins.
Initially, there was a great diversity of native populations, of which there are currently over 300, the best known being the Tupinamba, Guarani and Yanomami populations, each with their own culture and history.
Since the 15th century, the territory has sadly brought together other peoples in the context of slavery and colonization: European settlers forcibly brought millions of people from the African continent.
Since the abolition of slavery in 1888, how have these relationships of domination evolved? How do people claim their identity? What are their various forms of expression?
These are just some of the questions that anthropologist Audrey Philippe will address through concrete examples.
